A walking tour through the scenic village of Rottingdean.

As a cultured retreat from neighbouring Brighton, the village has attracted writers and artists to visit or make their home here over the years.  We hear about some of these creatives, including the famous storyteller, Rudyard Kipling.

We hear how it’s one-time remote, coastal location with access through the South Downs made Rottingdean an ideal place for smugglers of years past to go about their clandestine activities unimpeded!

We will meet in front of the Rottingdean Terraces (set between the White Horse Pub [BN2 7HR] and the Undercliff Walk) and will finish in the centre of the village.

The tour last for 1 hour 45 minutes (approximately).  The level of walking with this tour is moderate and involves a short hill climb, we will be walking off the established paths to explore the windmill and views, and appropriate footwear is recommended.
